Hello dear friend!

   Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lillian Rose Williams and I’d like to welcome you, from the bottom of my heart, to The Grounded Journal creative community writing platform!  I am so happy you are here, and so very eager to read your written thoughts!

   Throughout life, I have happened upon a different breed of people: those who deeply enjoy tinkering with words and phrases.  Those who write for the sheer joy of that moment when our brains cough up that  perfect precision adjective that immaculately conveys our thoughts.  The type of people who are incredibly satisfied when their writing finally comes together like that final piece of a 1,000 part puzzle.  

   This is not a platform where you should obsess when your writing feels cumbersome or choppy.  Far from it, actually!  I am certain we have all experienced that dreaded temporary condition known as writer’s block, or had to battle our perfectionist tendencies that often sabotage our writing.  This community is a fledgling venue where we want to inspire and encourage writers and wordsmiths to further their craft.  

   Let this be that bonafide opportunity that you have been waiting for in order to blow the dust off your many excuses, start your creative juices flowing, and to actually put your thoughts into paragraphs.  For me, without a reason or a deadline, no writing will actually happen- perhaps you are also wired this way.

   A writing prompt will be posted every other Tuesday; your replies will also be shared here with permission.  (So that allows this community to read and learn and enjoy each other’s styles of writing.)  Bonus points if you know of a person who was described above and share this info with them as well!  (Pen names are encouraged!)  

  We will be scanning all submitted work for pieces that fit in with future issues of The Grounded Journal. These will be paid opportunities and you’ll be contacted directly! All prompts are directed toward the theme of the journal we are currently working on:)
